Due to the unique characteristics of pressure-sensitive label printing, narrow-web flexographic presses offer distinct advantages over letterpress and other types of flexographic equipment. These presses are not only easy to operate but also deliver high-quality print results and excellent operational efficiency, boast strong versatility, can handle a wider range of product types, and thus provide a greater competitive edge.
1. The surface gloss and color consistency, as well as the density uniformity of the face stock, determine the uniformity of ink absorption in pressure-sensitive adhesive materials and also affect color variations among labels printed from the same batch. Moreover, the coating strength of the face stock influences whether significant paper dust is generated during printing and serves as a key indicator of print quality.
2. The uniformity and strength of the liner and facestock thickness not only affect printability but also serve as critical indicators determining die‑cutting consistency, waste‑stripping speed, and the likelihood of edge tearing. If these parameters are too low, the labeling machine will be unable to operate at high speeds.
3. Material Flatness and Rewinding Tension Uniformity: Whether printing on individual sheets or on roll stock, the material’s flatness determines whether paper can be fed, conveyed, registered, and collected accurately during printing. For roll‑fed materials, rewinding tension plays a critical role in ensuring the flatness of the roll ends, preventing adhesive bleed‑through, and enabling precise registration.
4. The uniformity of the adhesive and silicone coating, as well as the correct coating weight, affect the release force between the pressure-sensitive adhesive label and its liner. This release force, in turn, directly influences die-cutting waste removal and machine speed, and it also determines the label’s peel‑off performance under various application conditions. Moreover, the amount of adhesive applied can impact resin seepage at the material’s edge. Therefore, when purchasing pressure-sensitive adhesive label materials, thorough inspection is essential to select products with appropriately balanced adhesive and silicone coating levels.
