Characteristics of Printed Self-Adhesive Labels

1. One key requirement is that the dimensional tolerances of pressure-sensitive adhesive products must be kept very tight; therefore, these products should be meticulously designed, with deviations maintained within 0.5 mm.
2. The symmetry of the adhesive coating directly affects the release force between the label and the liner; the magnitude of this release force can compromise die‑cutting performance, waste removal, and machine speed. It also determines the label’s tack—the adhesion in its applied state. Furthermore, the amount of adhesive dispensed can lead to seepage into the substrate’s internal pores. Therefore, when purchasing dry‑adhesive materials, thorough testing is essential to select substrates that are appropriately matched to both the dispensing volume and the silicone coating thickness.
3. Both the pressure and the ink color should adhere to specific standards. Printed text must be exceptionally clear, and any areas that are not intended for printing should remain unprinted and precisely defined. Therefore, when producing adhesive labels, it is generally necessary to design a detailed print‑ready layout in advance, specifying both the exact text formatting and the ink colors to be used.
4. The print layout must also be carefully designed, ensuring it aligns with the final design output. If overprinting is required, the registration error and accuracy should be kept within 1.5 mm.
5. The uniformity of the surface material thickness of the release liner is not only related to packaging and printing characteristics but also serves as a critical criterion for ensuring consistent die‑cutting quality and efficient waste removal. If the surface material thickness of the release liner is uneven, the labeling machine will be unable to operate at high speed.
6. When printing adhesive labels, ensure the products are neat and visually appealing—without sticking, shadows, or even dirt on the surface—and that the cutting is precise. The printed surface must be clean, with legible type that is neither blurred nor defective.
